Had to share cuz I'm beyond thrilled that I don't have to deal with this anymore. So on this final installation attempt for today, I decided to change the location to C:\ ProgramFiles(x86)\Adobe and that did the trick!! In C:\ ProgramFiles(x86)\Adobe is where all InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop were installed whereas C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\ has the 64-bit programs Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and Media Encoder.

Prior to my nearly 10th and final install attempt (the rest of CS6 installed fine), I decided to go into Windows Explorer to see the folder set up. The default install folder is C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe. It turns out that after trying everything else, I came across this thread about where it wants to install isn't where it should install. I have SP1 for Windows 7 so I'm good there. It was the msi thing, so I made sure all the permissions were right, etc etc.
